On June 7, 2018, NORTH51 Connect, an open event in Calgary to celebrate and showcase outstanding achievements in the Canadian geospatial community, celebrated Canada’s best and brightest in geospatial. This event was hosted by TECTERRA, a geospatial technology innovation support centre that supports the Canadian development and commercialization of geomatics technologies.
Six companies, including 3vGeomatics, were inducted into TECTERRA’s Hall of Fame for successful completion of their engagement with TECTERRA and achieving excellence in technology development and commercialization. Other awards presented during the event were: StartUp of the Year, Most Disruptive Technology, Mastering New Markets, Product of the Year, and Company of the Year; among others for influencers, women of impact and student leadership.
“We have the unique privilege to see innovative technologies in their infancy,” says Jonathan Neufeld, CEO of TECTERRA, and host of NORTH51 Connect. “Through this celebration, we want to create a window into the transformative global change which is being driven by the Canadian geospatial industry.”
The spotlight was on innovative technologies which are changing the landscape of everything from traffic optimization to weather monitoring, agriculture, and construction. Nominees represented a diverse cross-section of industries with multiple companies using IoT, Smart Cities, and Drones to advance the tech sector.
