3v Geomatics Inc. (3vG) is looking to add a key member to our Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) operations team.
3v Geomatics (www.3vGeomatics.com) is a fast-growing tech company based in Vancouver, British Columbia in 2007. we use remotely sensed radar data to detect and measure changes on the Earth’s surface. Using mainly in-house software and processing algorithms, we monitor infrastructure and ground displacement with high precision and reliability. We strive to use our products to make a positive impact on people around the world.
Our applications are diverse and include monitoring landslides, mining activity, pipeline integrity, and permafrost degradation. Using satellite data, we are able to measure millimeter-scale displacement from the thermal expansion of bridges, sinking dikes, and uplifting oil reservoirs. We are constantly updating and refining our image processing tools, analysis techniques, and products. 3vG places an emphasis on processing precision and speed and having a robust technical solution to extract the most relevant information from every dataset.
We need the best people to implement and improve our technology. Each of our applications has unique issues and require all of our staff to have strong problem-solving skills.
We are looking for an individual with the strong fundamentals required for InSAR analysis including experience with processing methods, advanced algorithms, and applications. Their primary tasks are to deliver timely information products to our clients and help develop the next generation of InSAR tools. The InSAR Specialist is expected to make an important contribution to our growing technical capacity and overall business.
InSAR Specialists have the following responsibilities:
- Process and analyze InSAR datasets for diverse monitoring projects
- Explore and develop new techniques to improve products
- Support business development through proposals, preparing demonstrations and meeting with customers

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a bachelors, advanced diploma, master’s degree or equivalent background in math, geography, computer science, physics or engineering. Experience with InSAR processing and fundamentals would be an additional asset. They will join a focused technical team and will have most of the following skills:
- Experience processing SAR data or other remotely sensed geospatial data
- Experience conducting InSAR analyses
- Proficiency using command line interfaces, ideally Linux based
- Proficiency manipulating GIS data and using GIS platforms
- Experience with image processing techniques
- Experience with Python, Matlab, Linux shell scripting or similar
Language skills are considered a useful bonus, especially Spanish.
